Crisis response canines continued to visit as they were able during the pandemic. We stood outside of 9-1-1 dispatch centers and visited with staff during shift change. Some visited with special permission and precautions first responders in hospitals and when the vaccine was available, we visited the staff and patients at vaccine clinics. We dressed the dogs in costumes and visited outside of a children’s hospital so they could look out their windows to see us. We walked around the outside of nursing homes so the elderly residents feeling lonely could see the dogs.
